Of that total, 47.2% was directed towards the United States, totaling $5,848.3 million.
Switzerland ranked second, recording $1,033.3 million for 8.36%, and Haiti, considered the second trading partner of this nation, ranked third with $1,026 million.
The information specified that the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic projected exports for last year at around $14,154.4 million, of which, about $8,909.8 would correspond to the free trade zones.
Among the most outstanding exported products were raw gold, including platinized, for non-monetary use (excluding powder), which obtained 9.77% with $1,210.1 million of the total.
“Pure” cigarettes, including untipped and “pureto” cigars, containing tobacco, with 7.64% and instruments and apparatus for medicine, surgery or veterinary (7.08).
