General Consul of the Dominican Republic in Miami Outlines Plan to Empower Dominicans Living in Florida

MIAMI, FLORIDA. – General Consul Geanilda Vásquez of the Dominican Republic in Miami has announced her plans to strengthen essential points for the over 250,000 Dominicans living in Florida.

The consul stated that her administration will follow the guidelines set forth by President Luis Abinader, promoting actions that will contribute to the country’s growth and benefit Dominicans residing abroad.

In a meeting with non-profit organizations, community leaders, and local media, Vásquez presented her work program, which includes the creation of an export and import center, international agreements with companies, universities, and ministries, and managing agreements to provide Dominicans in Florida with the same facilities being applied in the country in various sectors.

New Programs to Serve the Dominican Community in Florida

The consul has also announced plans to initiate new programs within the framework of the continuity of other consulates in Florida. Vásquez is taking on this position with the determination to work for and with the Dominican community in Miami, stating that she wants to listen to their needs before starting her term.

As part of her “passion for service” approach, Vásquez has developed a timeline of activities for the Dominican community to follow and participate in, prioritizing those that directly contribute to the country’s development.

Patriotic Values and Democratic Strengthening in the Diaspora

Vásquez stressed the importance of maintaining patriotic values among the diaspora through commemorative events and other constitutional actions, as well as encouraging Dominicans to register and continue strengthening democracy in the country. She announced that outstanding Dominicans in Miami will be recognized and presented as examples, with a jury to be created to review the candidates for recognition and cast the final vote.

Accessible and Convenient Services for Dominicans in Florida

The consul emphasized her commitment to being accessible, listening to the needs of the community, and making services more convenient and accessible while reducing costs, promoting equality and regularization. Vásquez’s plans to empower Dominicans living in Florida align with President Abinader’s efforts to support the growth and prosperity of the Dominican Republic and its people, both at home and abroad.
