Luis Abinader departs for Belize on Monday afternoon for SICA meeting.

The Presidency of the Dominican Republic announced that the Dominican President, Luis Abinader, will travel to Belize to participate in the 57th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Central American Integration System (SICA). Abinader will depart with a small delegation in the afternoon of Monday, June 26, and will be received by a commission headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belize at the Riversdale International Airport in Placencia.

The President’s agenda includes a reception and cultural experience offered to the Heads of State and Government, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, and Special Guests at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 26. The following day, Tuesday, June 27, Abinader will participate in the 57th Ordinary Meeting of Heads of State and Government of SICA at UMAYA Resort at 8:40 a.m.

The session will begin at 8:45 a.m. with remarks from the Prime Minister of Belize and the Pro Tempore President of SICA, John Briceño. At 8:50 a.m., the Secretary General of SICA, Werner Isaac Vargas Torres, will deliver his speech. At 8:55 a.m., the Family Photo of the Heads of State and Government of SICA will be taken, followed by the start of the working session.

The closing ceremony of the 57th Summit of Heads of State and Government of SICA will take place at 12:20 p.m., followed by a lunch offered to the Heads of State and Government and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of SICA at 12:30 p.m. After the official agenda of the event, President Abinader will return to his country in the early evening hours.

The delegation of President Abinader is composed of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Álvarez; the Chief of the Presidential Security Corps (CUSEP), Brigadier General Jimmy Arias Grullón, and his assistants Eilyn Beltran and Mercedes Pichardo.
