New York, United States. – The New York Police Department reported on Thursday that Manuel Ramos, 17, a suspect in the murder of a Dominican woman on December 26 of last year, fled the city to the Dominican Republic.
The victim was named Valeria Ortega, who was killed after the teenager shot her as she was heading to a supermarket.
According to the report from the New York Police Department (NYPD), Ramos was in a vehicle with two other people, on the way to a drug distribution point, when he shot.
The teenager fired his weapon from inside the car at a scooter, which he thought was chasing him. The action resulted in the death of the criolla.
After the incident, the police discovered that Ramos had left the US for the Dominican Republic, where he is suspected to have been hiding since January 1 of this year.
The authorities have been actively searching for and locating the alleged killer, who has an arrest warrant issued on January 6 for robbery and criminal possession.
According to reports, the teenager traveled to the country with a one-way airline ticket.
