Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – The CEO of the National Institute of Land Transportation and Transit (Intrant), Hugo Beras, reminded today that this Tuesday, January 3rd, the enforcement of heavy vehicles violating the Restricted Access Zone (ZAR) of the city will begin.
This measure is provided for in Regulation 258-20, which prohibits the passage of cargo vehicles with more than three axles within the perimeter defined by the Restricted Access Zone and Law 63-17 on Land Mobility, Transportation, Transit and Road Safety in the Dominican Republic.
The Restricted Access Zone (ZAR) is delimited to the north by the Reyes Católicos and República de Colombia avenues; to the west by the Gregorio Luperón avenue and to the east by the Ozama river.
Through a Press Release, the transport regulatory body reiterated that the restriction will apply to all cargo vehicles with more than three axles from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.
In this sense, Hugo Beras called on transport companies and companies providing cargo services to register to request access permits to the ZAR zone and the places established during the allowed hours through the INTRANT website www.intrant.gob.do.
The enforcement will be accompanied by agents from DIGESETT and members of the Supervision and Control of Road Fines Directorate of Intrant, who will be stationed at different access points in the restricted zone to verify compliance and validity of permits.
