Police of new york honor two Dominican agents murdered a year ago

NEW YORK. – This Saturday, the City of New York remembered the life of Dominican-origin detectives Wilbert Mora and Jason Rivera with a mass, almost a year after they were killed while on duty in Harlem.

The homily was held at 10:00 in the morning at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

“Every day we see them and we can’t stop thinking about that tragedy,” Detective Osvaldo Collado from the 32nd precinct said. “And we always think about ourselves and our families.”

A few blocks from the 32nd precinct in Manhattan, Rivera, 22, and Mora, 27, died after being shot during a domestic violence call in Harlem on the night of Friday, January 21, 2022.

Their service and loyalty to the police oath is still worthy of emulation according to those who knew them.

“The truth is that we still feel the great loss of those two boys,” Collado said. “They were two of the best police officers I have met in my 29 years here in this precinct.”
