La Vega, DR. – Yasiris Joaquín de Jesús, who died on Wednesday after becoming trapped under the rubble of a collapse in a furniture store in La Vega province, was going to ask for a permit that day to baptize her son, according to one of her relatives.
“She went to work yesterday (Wednesday) so that they would give her a permit at two in the afternoon because she was going to baptize the child yesterday,” said one of Yasiris’ relatives, who became trapped inside the R&S Multimuebles store after the four-story building collapsed.
According to a relative of Joaquín de Jesús, she was on medical leave and “was supposed to enter on February 2, but entered on January 10.”
Authorities reported on Thursday that the death of the young Yasiris Joaquín de Jesús was due to the fact that, at the time of the building’s collapse, she was on the first floor, so she was struck by the rubble of the building.
A team from Listín Diario went to the family’s home where the wake of the young woman will be held, in the community of Río Verde in this province. “A very happy” “content,” “very dynamic” and “very hardworking” are the phrases that stand out for those who describe the woman.
