Santo Domingo, DR. – President Luis Abinader suggested that officials on duty study and implement the “V Plan of Open Government Action” which aims to increase transparency and prevent administrative corruption through the availability of data.
In his speech during the presentation of the new plan presented by representatives of the General Directorate of Ethics and Governmental Integrity (DIGEIG), which is presided over by Milagros Ortíz Bosch, he reiterated that one of the main public policies is accountability to the Dominican people.
“I tell all the officials here, all government officials, to read this plan and implement it,” said the President in a friendly way, calling on his officials to read the new plan.
He emphasized that if there is a goal of public policies in his management, it is transparency and accountability to the people.
He indicated that by presenting this new plan, they will continue working on “transcendent issues such as transparency, integrity, prevention and fight against corruption.”
As well as “the protection of rights and freedoms, democratic governance, data and technology for the common good, inclusion of vulnerable groups, citizen participation and collaboration, protection of the environment and sustainable development.”
He highlighted that this project has ten detailed and measurable commitments which “aim to place the Dominican Republic at the forefront of open government.”
The President said that this idea is a commitment that they have assumed, which is fundamental in his management.
In conclusion, he reiterated the call to ministers, directors, and directors to work together to implement this new plan.
