Dominican National Found Guilty in Manhattan Federal Court for Fatal Drug Trafficking

New York, USA. – Billy Ortega, a Dominican national, was found guilty by a jury in the Southern District of Manhattan Federal Court for drug trafficking that resulted in three deaths from cocaine mixed with fentanyl.

The victims died on the same day, March 17th, 2021.

Ortega, who is 36 years old, acted as a drug dispatcher and sent Kaylen Rainey to deliver the drugs to three separate locations in Manhattan, according to federal prosecutors.

Rainey, who declared himself innocent, allegedly delivered the cocaine mixed with fentanyl to the victims.

Ortega faces a maximum sentence of life in prison and a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years.

His sentencing is on February 17th, 2023.

Co-conspirator William Drayton, who acted as a messenger for the group on other days, pleaded guilty and will also be sentenced on February 17th, 2023.
