The Dominican Republic has the third lowest minimum wage among the countries in the region

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – The Dominican Republic is the third among 14 countries in the region with the lowest minimum wage, according to a study recently published by Bloomberg Línea, only surpassing Venezuela (8 dollars) and Argentina (189 dollars).

According to this ranking, the minimum wage in the country is 11,500 pesos, equivalent to 205 dollars. The study used financial information from the authorized institutions of each country as its source.

The list of the highest minimum wages is headed by Costa Rica, which pays 603 dollars, equivalent to 350,975 Costa Rican colones. Uruguay occupies second place with 540 dollars, equivalent to 21,106 Uruguayan pesos.

Chile occupies a third place by paying 475 dollars, equivalent to 410,000 Chilean pesos.

Venezuela and Argentina, which occupy the last two places on the list, pay 8 dollars, the first, equivalent to more than 130,000 bolivars, and the second pays 65,427 Argentine pesos, which is to say 189 dollars.

The list, in order of greatest to least, is Costa Rica, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador, Paraguay, Panama, Bolivia, Mexico, Honduras, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, and Venezuela.
