Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – The Texas Rangers secured the talent of prospect Pablo Guerrero, another of the sons of Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero, and the younger brother of Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr., as part of the start of international signings in MLB.
The Rangers have $4.1 million available to invest in prospects in this international market and their agreement with Guerrero is expected to be officially announced after his physical exams.
An MLB report in Spanish states that Guerrero has a body similar to his older brother and could end up in the same position.
However, he has played third base and the outfield, although the projection is that he will establish himself as a full-time first baseman.
Pablo Guerrero and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have many physical similarities, however, it remains to be seen if he can develop his offense and become a slugger.
