Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – Dominican triple jumper Ana José Tima, who has competed in two Olympic Games, has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for banned substances in two doping controls, according to the athletics integrity unit.
The AIU said on Monday that the 33-year-old athlete was notified of the allegations against her after testing positive for the substances ostarine and GW501516 in December.
No timeline was given for when the case against Tima will be resolved.
Tima competed in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2021 Tokyo Olympics but did not make it to the finals in either event.
She finished 10th in the World Athletics Championships held in July in Eugene, Oregon.
Ostarine is a selective androgen receptor modulator that allows muscle growth. The British men’s 4×100 relay team was disqualified from their second-place finish in Tokyo after runner Chijindu Ujah tested positive for ostarine.
GW501516 is a metabolic modulator that failed in medical trials. The World Anti-Doping Agency issued a health warning about it in 2013.
