Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – The Dominican Rafael Devers is signing an 11-season, $331 million contract extension with the Boston Red Sox.
The news of the agreement was announced by former player Carlos Baerga through his Instagram account and confirmed by USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.
Devers, who had previously reached an agreement for one year and $17.5 million, is now smiling with $331 million and 11 seasons.
The native closed the past season with an average of 282, resulting from 146 hits in 518 official turns, including 35 doubles, a triple, and 26 home runs with 86 runs batted in, in 141 games in which he saw action.
